One of the most effective ways to drive change is through social entrepreneurship. From this, the Society Socks pair-for-pair model was born. With every pair of socks that is purchased, another pair will be donated to charity.
The Problem: Socks are the least donated, but most needed clothing item at homeless shelters. Socks protect the homeless from the cold. It takes 30 minutes to get frostbite in sub-zero temperatures. Wet socks breed bacteria and infection. More than 1 million Americans have diabetes, putting them at greater risk of skin injury, infection, and amputation. Many homeless walk several miles a day to access food, shelter, and essentials. Wearing socks and shoes with hols decreases self-worth and makes many people unmotivated to seek employment because they lack confidence in their appearance.
The Solution: Society Socks is all about fostering a community of people that care about each other's well-being. A gesture as small as a pair of socks can lead the way to a better world. One of the most effective ways to drive change is thorough social entrepreneurship. People are more motivated to seek employment when they have confidence in their appearance.
The Story: Society Socks co-founders Filip Pejic and Sergey Sapelnyk searched for the right opportunity to get their hands dirty and experience entrepreneurship. They merged two worlds they're passionate about - style and social impact - to create Society Socks. This brand blends craftsmanship and style to give people an outlet to express their individuality.
